9.10. Anti-blocking system (ABS)

GENERAL INFORMATION

On a part of cars in system of brakes the system (ABS) is in addition installed антиблокировочня. ABS is an automatic device which provides braking of the car in the faltering mode and excludes blocking of wheels, thereby keeping their coupling with the road. Use of system allows to increase efficiency of braking, to improve controllability and stability of the car on the road.

ABS consists of the standard brake system and additional knots which enter the control unit 1 (see rice. The ABS elements) and the sensors of frequency of rotation of wheels installed in brake mechanisms of lobbies of 10 and back 8 wheels with touch disks in naves of wheels.

In addition on models with ABS can install the traction control system (ASR) and system of electronic blocking of differential (EDS).

ASR interferes with pro-slipping of wheels at dispersal of the car, influencing a control system of the engine therefore the torque of the engine decreases to optimum size. ASR can be disconnected the switch 3 button.

EDS constantly determines angular speeds of driving wheels, receiving signals from rotation frequency sensors. At discrepancy of angular speeds the revolving wheel is braked until angular speeds of driving wheels are not made even, the effect of blocking of differential thereby is created. The system works only at the rectilinear movement. ABS, EDS and ASR are joint in the general control unit. BOSCH 5.7 and ABS/EDS/ASR BOSCH 5.7 ABS control units (see rice. Control units "Bosch 5.7") can be distinguished on appearance.


Prevention

Disconnect blocks with ABS wires only at the switched-off ignition.

Before any works with the ABS hubs surely disconnect a wire from the - plug of the rechargeable battery.

Before carrying out electric welding on the car disconnect a block with wires from the ABS control unit.

For rubbing do not use the fleecy and fading rags.
