9.4. Pressure regulator (on models without ABS)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Installation of the regulator of pressure on the car

1 – pressure regulator;

2 – lever;

3 – nut;

Pressure regulator installed before a beam of the back bridge interferes with premature blocking of back wheels concerning lobbies. It allows to use more effectively brake properties of the car and to prevent a possible drift of the car.


Prevention

Pressure regulator is not subject to repair, in case of malfunction it needs to be replaced assembled.


Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
On the car standing on the earth, the assistant has to press sharply a brake pedal – the lever of the regulator has to move. Otherwise the regulator of pressure is faulty and it needs to be replaced.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the regulator of pressure is correctly adjusted, when braking on the horizontal section of the road with a hard coating forward wheels have to be blocked back a little earlier.
2. If back wheels are blocked before lobbies, preliminary adjustment can be executed, having weakened a load spring 5 (see rice. Installation of the regulator of pressure on the car) (for this purpose weaken a nut of its fastening on the lever).
3. If forward wheels are blocked back much earlier – pull a spring.
4. More exact adjustment by means of special devices can be executed at service station.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish under pressure regulator capacity for collecting brake fluid which will follow from it at removal.
2. Mark brake tubes 11–14 (see rice. Pressure regulator details), pressure connected to the regulator not to mix them at installation.
3. Having turned off fastening nuts, disconnect four brake tubes from the regulator. Muffle openings of tubes.
4. Disconnect the lever 3 regulators from a load spring 4, having turned off a nut 5 and having taken out a bolt 2.
5. Turn off a bolt 1 with an internal hexagon and remove pressure regulator from an arm on a body.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install pressure regulator upside-down.
2. After installation add liquid in a tank and pump over the brake system (see subsection 9.9.6).
3. Adjust pressure regulator (see above).
