Minimum admissible thickness of a frictional slip (without the basis) – 1,5 mm.

To check thickness and a condition of brake shoes, without removing a wheel, it is possible through the control opening on inside of a brake board 2 (see rice. Check of thickness of frictional overlays of brake shoes) closed by a cap 1.

Replace brake shoes in the following cases:

  – thickness of a frictional slip of less admissible;
  – the surface of slips is greasy;
  – slips are unsteadily connected to the basis;
  – on slips deep furrows and chips.


Prevention

Sets of blocks need to be replaced on both sides of a forward suspension bracket at once.

Do not apply gasoline, diesel fuel or any other mineral solvents to cleaning of brakes.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the brake drum (see subsection 9.7.2).
2. Press by means of flat-nose pliers a cup 3 (see rice. Details of the brake drum mechanism of a back wheel), turn it on 90 ° (holding a rack 13 from a reverse side of a brake board 14), remove a cup 3 together with a spring 2 and take out a rack 13 from a reverse side of a brake board. In the same way remove a rack with a spring and a cup of other block.
3. By means of the screw-driver remove the lower toes of the basis of blocks 1 and 7 of the lower support 17.
4. Disconnect from blocks the lower coupling spring 4.
5. Disconnect a cable of the drive of the parking brake from the lever 8 of the manual drive.
6. Having carefully parted with a block 1 and 7, remove them from a brake board 14.
7. Clamp brake shoes in a vice.
8. Remove a podzhimny spring 1 (see rice. Dismantling of brake shoes) adjusting wedge.
9. Remove the top coupling spring 4 and take out from a vice a back block 5 (with the lever of the manual drive).
10. Remove a podzhimny spring 3 (see rice. Removal of an expansion level) expansion level.
11. Remove an expansion level 5 with an adjusting wedge 2.
12. Before installation of new blocks reduce pistons of the wheel cylinder 11 (see rice. Details of the brake drum mechanism of a back wheel), having pressured them by means of two mounts.
13. Grease places of contact of an expansion level with a block with solid plastic G 000 650 lubricant or other jellied lubricant.
14. Connect a podzhimny spring 1 (see rice. Installation of an expansion level) an expansion level to a forward block 2 also establish on a block an expansion level 3.
15. Connect other end of a podzhimny spring to an expansion level.
16. Establish an adjusting wedge, having directed a ledge 6 (see rice. Removal of an expansion level) on a wedge outside.
17. Enclose a back brake shoe in a cut of an expansion level, previously having greased places of contact of a level with a block with solid plastic G 000 650 lubricant or other jellied lubricant.
18. Establish the top coupling spring 6 (see rice. Details of the brake drum mechanism of a back wheel).
19. Establish a podzhimny spring of the 18th adjusting wedge.
20. Carefully establish brake shoes on a brake board.
21. Connect a cable of the drive of the parking brake to the lever 8 of the manual drive.
22. Grease places of contact of the lower returnable spring and blocks with solid plastic G 000 650 lubricant or other jellied lubricant.
23. Establish the lower coupling spring 4 and enter the ends of blocks into lower
support 17.
24. Establish racks 13 from a reverse side of a brake board, put on them springs 2 and record them by means of cups 3 (having turned them on 90 °).
25. Install the brake drum.
26. Several times press a brake pedal that pistons reached working position.
27. Adjust the parking brake and establish a wheel. Finally tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel only on the car standing on the earth.

The moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a wheel – 120 N · m.
