Installation of the brake drum mechanism of a back wheel

1 – screw;
2 – brake drum;
3 – protective cap;
4 – nave nut;
5 – nave;
6 – bolt of fastening of a brake board;
7 – a brake board assembled with the brake mechanism;

8 – cable of the drive of the parking brake;
9 – axis pin;
10 – brake tube;
11 – sensor of frequency of rotation of a wheel;
12 – a cap (on models without ABS);
13 – bolt of fastening of the sensor;
14 – beam of a back suspension bracket;
15 – beam of a back suspension bracket (execution option)

The defective brake drum reduces durability of brake shoes, leads to inefficient and uneven braking.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Replace the brake drum if its internal diameter reached the maximum admissible value.

2. If on the working surface of the reel there were deep risks, chips or ovality is noticeable, such drum needs also to be replaced.

3. Remove a wheel, previously having weakened bolts of its fastening on the car standing on the earth.

4. Make sure that the lever of the parking brake is lowered against the stop down (the parking brake is released).

5. Reduce brake shoes. For this purpose through an opening under bolts of fastening of wheels in a drum by means of the screw-driver (see rice. Data of brake shoes) wring out up an adjusting wedge (on a wedge for this purpose there is a special ledge).

6. Unscrew the screw 1 (see rice. Installation of the brake drum mechanism of a back wheel) of fastening of the brake drum to a nave.

7. Remove the brake drum 2. At the complicated removal shift a disk the rubber or polymeric hammer.

8. Install the new brake drum and fix it by the screw 1.

9. Finally tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel only on the car standing on the earth.

10. Several times press a brake pedal for automatic adjustment of provision of brake shoes.

The moment of an inhaling of the screw of fastening of the brake drum – 4 N · m.
