1.11.1. Forward safety cushions

GENERAL INFORMATION

Safety cushion 25 (see rice. Governing bodies) for the driver the safety cushion 14 for the forward passenger – is installed in dashboards in a nave of a steering wheel. In this case on a steering wheel and the dashboard there are inscriptions Airbag.

Safety cushions are in working order at the included ignition and work at strong front blow.

Prevention

At not fastened seat belts the safety cushion at operation can put a trauma.

After inclusion of ignition in combinations of devices the control lamp 18 lights up for several seconds (see rice. Combination of devices) – the system is controlled automatically.

If in system there is a malfunction, then:

– the lamp does not light up at inclusion of ignition;
– the lamp does not die away in several seconds after inclusion of ignition;
– the lamp dies away and again lights up after inclusion of ignition;
– the lamp lights up the constant or blinking light during the movement.

In these cases it is necessary to address immediately on service station as pillows can not work at front blow or, on the contrary, work at any time.

Prevention

Service life of safety cushions of 15 years. After this term of a pillow it is necessary to replace.

It is forbidden to paste over, close or to somehow alter a nave of a steering wheel and the place on the dashboard where the pillow for the forward passenger is established.

It is allowed to clean installation sites of pillows the dry or moistened in water rag.

Surely replace the pillows which worked as a result of the road accident.

The passengers sitting on front seats are forbidden to hold on a lap children, animals or any objects (bags, etc.).

Shutdown of a safety cushion for the forward passenger, for example, in case of installation of a children's chair on a front seat is provided in the car.

Shutdown and inclusion of a pillow is carried out only at service station.
