1.53. Care of the car


Care of a paint and varnish covering consists in a periodic sink of a body and restoration of the damaged sites of a paint and varnish covering.

For a wash of the car use clear water or water with car shampoo addition.


Do not remove dust and dirt a body a dry rag – it is possible to scratch a paint and varnish covering.

Do not use gasoline, kerosene, soda and sea water for washing not to damage a paint and varnish covering, rubber and plastic details of a body.

It is impossible to wash a body in frosty weather and to leave on a frost on the car with a wet body: when freezing water on the surface of paint microcracks can be formed.

It is impossible to apply gasoline or solvent to cleaning of plastic details.

We recommend to wash a body in a shadow as at bystry drying of a paint and varnish covering under direct sunshine on a body there will be light spots. If there is an opportunity, wash a body with water from a hose and a soft sponge.

Carefully wash out junctions of details of a body and welded seams. At a sink of podkapotny space water should not get on electric equipment elements. We recommend to use special means for cleaning of the engine. After a sink blow or wipe dry electric equipment elements.

Flew down better to wash with the soft rag moistened with water with addition of stekloomyvayushchy liquid.

For cleaning of details of an upholstery of salon and seats it is better to use the vacuum cleaner. Delete fat spots from an upholstery with soap solution or special means.


Do not use water for cleaning of an upholstery of seats with electroheating.

Wash wheel arches with a water stream under pressure or a hair brush. Wash the bottom with a hair brush at least once a year, it is desirable prior to winter operation, before restoration of an anticorrosive covering. Periodically wash out the bottom and wheel arches during the winter period to clear them of salt.

Restoration of a paint and varnish covering of a body

The gasoline which got on a body, oil, brake fluid, electrolyte, alkalis, solution of soda destroy a paint and varnish covering. At hit of these substances immediately wash out and wipe a body with a pure rag.

You do not store the car under the rubberized cover and do not put on the painted body surfaces objects from rubber: they leave on a paint and varnish covering (especially light) dark stains which are not removed polishing.

Process the grown dull paint and varnish covering to polishes, thereby you restore gloss and zapolirut microcracks. Paint over the small chips and scratches which did not break a primer layer a thin brush.

If the layer of primer is broken, smooth out the damaged place a small granular emery cloth, having removed corrosion traces. Cover the smoothed-out place with a primer layer (from a kraskoraspylitel, an aerosol barrel or a brush). When primer completely dries, paint over the damaged place enamel.

If on a paint and varnish covering of the car bitumen got, at once remove it with white spirit or an autocleaner of bituminous spots. Bitumen causes emergence of the yellow spots especially noticeable on a light paint and varnish covering.
