GENERAL INFORMATION

Adjustment of disorder of forward wheels

1 – bolt of fastening of an arm of a beam;

2 – arm of a beam of a forward suspension bracket;

3 – beam of a forward polveska

Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels

1 – lock-nut;

2 – steering draft;

3 – draft tip

Check of an angle of rotation of forward wheels

and – distance between the tire and the lever of a forward suspension bracket

Adjustment of angles of installation of wheels is recommended to be carried out at service station.

The angles of installation of wheels should be regulated if the following details were removed:

 – lever of a forward suspension bracket;
 – rotary fist;
 – steering draft or tip of steering draft;
 – steering mechanism;
 – beam of a forward suspension bracket;
 – rack of a forward suspension bracket;
 – arm of a beam of a forward suspension bracket;
 – stabilizer of cross stability;
 – back bridge.

Adjustment is carried out:

 – at correct steering and a running gear;
 – with a normal pressure of air in tires;
 – at a difference in protector height at the left and on the right no more than 2 mm;
 – with the equipped mass of the car.

Prevention

If when checking angles of installation of wheels the received values differ from specified, it is necessary to check a cross inclination of a body of the car first of all.


Check and adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check and if necessary to adjust disorder of forward wheels.
2. To check disorder of back wheels.
3. To check a convergence of back wheels.
4. To check and if necessary to adjust a convergence of forward wheels.

Adjustment of disorder of forward wheels

Disorder of wheels is regulated the shift of arms of a beam of a forward suspension bracket (see the tab. Angles of installation of forward wheels).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Weaken an inhaling of bolts 1 (see rice. Adjustment of disorder of forward wheels).
2. Move an arm 2 beams so that disorder of wheels on both sides was identical.
3. Check a tilt angle of an axis of turn of a wheel.
4. Replace bolts 1 and tighten their moment 70 N · m, then tighten on 90 °.

Check of disorder of back wheels

PERFORMANCE ORDER
The corner of disorder of back wheels is not regulated. If it differs from nominal (see the tab. The angles of installation of back wheels), replace a beam of the back bridge.

Check of a convergence of back wheels

The convergence of back wheels is not regulated. If it differs from nominal (see the tab. The angles of installation of back wheels), replace a beam of the back bridge

Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels

The convergence of forward wheels is regulated change of length of steering drafts. At adjustment of a wheel have to be established in provision of the rectilinear movement (see the tab. Angles of installation of forward wheels).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Weaken an inhaling of lock-nuts 1 (see rice. Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels) on both sides.
2. Turning steering drafts the 2nd key for hexagons, achieve the required convergence of wheels. At the same time length of the right and left drafts has to be identical.
3. Tighten lock-nuts 1.
Prevention

After turn of steering drafts protective covers of the steering mechanism should not be overwound.


4. Double-check a convergence of wheels and if necessary repeat adjustment.

Check and adjustment of an angle of rotation of forward wheels

Angles of rotation of forward wheels regulate change of length of steering drafts.

Carry out check and adjustment in the following cases:

– the difference of the maximum angles of rotation of the right and left wheels exceeds 2 °;
– at the maximum turn the wheel concerns details of a suspension bracket or a body;
– radius of turn of the car differs from turn radius to the right on the left.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn a steering wheel in extreme situation at first in one, and then in other party and measure distance and (see rice. Check of an angle of rotation of forward wheels) for the right and left wheel. The received values have to be identical.
2. Weaken an inhaling of a lock-nut 1 (see rice. Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels) and, turning or turning off steering draft, achieve the required wheel angle of rotation.
3. Turn off or wrap steering draft on the other hand on the same speed. Then tighten lock-nuts 1.
4. Check and if necessary adjust a convergence of wheels.

Check of a deviation of the back bridge from the movement on a straight line

The deviation of the back bridge is not regulated.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure a convergence of the right and left back wheels.
2. Calculate a deviation. If identical signs have value of a convergence of the right and left wheels (positive or negative), it is necessary to subtract smaller from bigger value and to halve. For example: convergence of the left wheel +15', right wheel +5', then (15 - 5)/2=5. Means, the deviation of the back bridge is equal to 5'. If different signs have value of a convergence of the right and left wheels, it is necessary to put and divide their absolute values in half. For example: a convergence of the left wheel +15', the right wheel - 5', then (15 + 5) / 2 = 10. The deviation of the back bridge is equal to 10'.
