8.5.4. Replacement of steering draft

GENERAL INFORMATION

Detachment of steering draft from a lath (with the amplifier)

1 – case of the steering mechanism;

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the steering mechanism from the car (see subsection 8.5.2).

2. Clear the steering mechanism of dirt, especially in places of landing of protective covers.

3. Remove external 3 (see rice. Details of the steering mechanism (with the amplifier)) and internal the 5th collars of fastening of a protective cover.

4. Shift a protective cover 4 from a case of the steering mechanism aside. At removal of the right draft also shift a protective cover of the left draft to get access to special lyska for deduction of a lath from a provorachivaniye.

Prevention

At a detachment of steering draft from a lath of the steering mechanism with the amplifier do not clamp a mechanism lath in a vice at all – it is possible to damage epiploons of the steering mechanism.

5. Disconnect steering draft 4 (see rice. A detachment of steering draft from a lath (with the amplifier)) from a lath 2, having turned off the cap-type nut 3 and holding at the same time from a provorachivaniye a lath 2 on the left side for lysk.

6. Measure length of old draft. It will help at installation of a tip on new draft approximately to keep a convergence of wheels.

7. Having turned off a tip 1 (see rice. Details of the steering mechanism (with the amplifier)), remove from draft the 8th protective cover 4. Replace the protective cover torn, cracked or lost elasticity 4.

8. Establish on new draft the 8th protective cover 4 with collars 3 and 5 and screw a tip 1 on draft according to earlier measured size.

Prevention

Apply collars of fastening of a protective cover only of an original design and production of the famous manufacturers.

9. Connect steering thirst for a lath, having screwed the cap-type nut on a lath and holding at the same time from a provorachivaniye a lath on the left side for lysk.

10. Clear places of landing of a protective cover on a case of the steering mechanism and draft.

11. Grease with jellied lubricant of a flute in places of a prileganiye of a protective cover.

12. Establish a protective cover 4 on seats, watching that it was not overwound.

13. Fix a protective cover 4 (see rice. Fastening of a protective cover of the steering mechanism) new collars 2 by means of special pincers 3.

14. Install the steering mechanism on the car. At the same time modify the provision of a tip of draft at connection it to the rotary lever. Check and if necessary adjust the angles of installation of wheels.

The moment of an inhaling of fastening of steering thirst for a lath of the steering mechanism – 80 N · m.
