8.4.1. Replacement of a tip of steering draft
GENERAL INFORMATION

Fastening of the steering mechanism on the car (without amplifier)
1 – fork of the cardan hinge;

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At increase in a free wheeling (side play) of a steering wheel or significant increase in the effort necessary for its turn, check axial and radial gaps in spherical hinges of tips of steering drafts.
2. If when rocking draft the side play in the hinge is in different directions felt as a hand or corrosion on a spherical finger appeared, replace the spherical hinge assembled with a tip (you carry out an inspection at the hung-out forward wheels).
3. Surely replace a fragmentary protective cover of the spherical hinge, otherwise the dirt and water which got to the hinge will quickly put it out of action.
Prevention

Nuts of fingers of spherical hinges самоконтрящиеся therefore after each otvorachivaniye they need to be replaced new.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the corresponding wheel.
2. Clear a lock-nut 6 (see rice. Fastening of the steering mechanism on the car (without amplifier)) a tip of steering draft and a nut 3 fingers of the spherical hinge.
3. Weaken an inhaling of a lock-nut of the 6th tip, keeping from a provorachivaniye the second key draft for a hexagon.
4. Turn off a nut 3 fingers of the spherical hinge.
5. Establish a stripper 2 (see fig. of Vypressovk of a finger of the spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft) and a vypressuyta a finger of the spherical hinge from the rotary lever.
6. If for any reasons draft is disconnected from the rotary lever without replacement of a tip 1, then depending on a design of a stripper leave a nut 3 fastenings screwed on several rounds on a hinge finger not to damage its carving.
7. Disconnect steering draft 5 from the rotary lever 4.
8. Turn off a tip 1 (see rice. Steering draft assembled), keeping from a provorachivaniye draft 3 for a hexagon. At the same time count tip speed – it will help to keep approximately at installation of a tip a convergence of wheels.
Prevention

At installation pay attention that the left tip is marked by a letter D, and right – C (see rice. Marking of tips of steering drafts).
9. Screw a tip 1 (see rice. Steering draft assembled) on steering draft 3 on the speed counted earlier.
10. Press a hinge finger in the rotary lever 4 (see rice. Fastening of the steering mechanism on the car (without amplifier)), having put the new clamp 3 of his fastenings the corresponding moment (if necessary the finger from a provorachivaniye can be held by means of a hexagon).
11. After that record a tip 5 on steering draft a lock-nut 6, keeping steering draft from a provorachivaniye for a hexagon.
12. Establish a wheel.
13. Check and if necessary adjust the angles of installation of wheels.
