9.2. Vacuum amplifier

GENERAL INFORMATION

The vacuum amplifier with the main cylinder

1 – main cylinder;
2 – pin;
3, 8 – a nut;
4 – sealing ring;
5, 13 – the sealing plug;
6 – a vacuum hose with the backpressure valve;

7 – protective cap;

Prevention

The vacuum amplifier is not subject to repair, in case of malfunction it needs to be replaced assembled.

After removal of the vacuum amplifier самоконтрящиеся nuts of his fastening need to be replaced new.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At the idle engine press 5–6 times a brake pedal.

2. Holding a brake pedal in the pressed situation, launch the engine. The pedal of a brake has to move forward.

3. If it did not occur, check operation of the backpressure valve and density of landing of a vacuum hose 6 (see rice. The vacuum amplifier with the main cylinder). The backpressure valve has to pass air only in one party.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the main brake cylinder (see subsection 9.3).

2. Disconnect a vacuum hose 6 (see rice. The vacuum amplifier with the main cylinder) from the vacuum amplifier 10.

3. Turn off a bolt of fastening and remove an air duct of an obduv of legs of the driver (see subsection 11.6). On the models equipped with the Comfort system remove the central control unit.

4. Remove the braking signal switch (see subsection 9.10.7).

5. Disconnect a brake pedal from a pusher of the vacuum amplifier (see.
subsection 9.1).

6. Turn off four nuts 2 (see rice. Fastening of pedal knot) fastenings of the vacuum amplifier from within salon.

7. Remove the vacuum amplifier 10 (see rice. The vacuum amplifier with the main cylinder) from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish the vacuum amplifier upside-down, at the same time replace самоконтрящиеся nuts 2 (see rice. Fastening of pedal knot) or 8 (see rice. The vacuum amplifier with the main cylinder) its fastenings by new.

2. Replace also damaged laying 9 established between the amplifier and a board of a front.

3. After installation add liquid in a tank and pump over the brake system (see subsection 9.9.6).

The moment of an inhaling of a nut of fastening of the vacuum amplifier – 20 N · m.
